Inter Institutional Agreement 2016-17


Between Kathmandu University (KU), Dhulikhel, Nepal,


University of Salzburg (PLUS), Salzburg, Austria

An agreement was signed under the auspices of Erasmus+ Mobility for Learners and Student between Kathmandu University, Nepal and University of Salzburg, Austria and completed on 9th June 2016 facilitated by Prof.  Dr. Subodh Sharma, Director of Research, Development & Consultancy (RDC) on behalf of Kathmandu University. The Directorate announces opportunities for an exchange visit of one faculty of GIS and Remote Sensing and one PhD scholar registered at Kathmandu University and applying GIS and Remote Sensing in research, for short term visit to the Department of Geoinformatics – Z_GIS, University of Salzburg, Austria. This visit for faculty will be between September 1st to September 30th, 2016 and student’s stay will be from September 1st to November 30th 2016.


Pre-requisites for faculty / PhD students going from KU to PLUS, besides others are as follows:


 -       Candidates must be either a Full Time Faculty or a Full/Part Time PhD student with focus on natural disaster management.

-       The candidates should submit a short proposal about what they would like to do, should have command on English language, with good hands-on experience of working with GIS and Remote Sensing software

-       Should demonstrate their previous work in the field of natural disaster management through publications or oral/poster presentations in any International Seminars/Conferences.

Announcement for Official Closure of the Research Projects, Development Projects and Consultancy (Project reported completed on or before 15 April 2015)

This is for the general information of all concerned researchers/project staff with reference to the statement 2.4 of the RDC Policy Guidelines and Procedures 2015 that a project is considered closed as soon as the final financial and technical reports are accepted by the Funding Agency. No additional monetary claim by project staff is allowed as soon as the project is closed. Principal Investigators of all the projects reported completed on or before April 2015 are in this context informed to approach the Office of the Registrar, Directorate of Research, Development & Consultancy (RDC) based in Central Office, Dhulikhel with an application for project closing or any discrepancies on or before 30 July 2016, following which a certificate of successful accomplishment of the project shall be furnished to the Principal Investigator (s) by the undersigned. No grievances of any kinds shall be entertained failing to submit the application within due date as specified herein.

For a list of the earlier projects undertaken, reference can be made to Archive in www.ku.edu.np/research selected on the basis of duration of five years. It will be highly appreciated if PIs would kindly submit electronic copies of the technical and financial details for the purpose of record keeping.
