Interaction with Entrepreneurs held at CV Raman Auditorium, May 17, 2013

The interaction program entitled ‘Interaction with Entrepreneurs’ was held at the CV Raman Auditorium on May 17, 2013. Two of the eminent entrepreneurs - Kiran Joshi, Founder/CEO, Incessant Rain Animation Studios P. Ltd, and Biplav Gautam, FIFA Master (CIES) alumnus and Former Development Officer, Asian Football Confederation - shared their stories, as well as their thoughts and experiences regarding their own success amidst the students and faculty members. Both speakers emphasized the importance of upholding positive attitude for ones passion, creativity and innovation for building successful career.

During the presentation, former Head of the Digital Productions and Visual Effects Supervisor at Walt Disney, Mr. Joshi shared his enthusiasm and motivated those in attendance. He also entertained the audience by showcasing several animations he has produced till date. In the second session of the interaction, co-founder of Eventcheq, Mr. Gautam spoke about his passion for sports and marketing, and how his new-found company is working towards developing a web and mobile application that lets fans live, share and re-live their experiences at live events.

 


Prof. Dr. Bhadra Man Tuladhar (Registrar, Kathmandu University) felicitated the speakers by distributing token of appreciation and addressed the gathering by delivering the vote of thanks. The event - which was organized to supplement a course entitled Entrepreneurship Development -  was also attended by Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa (Dean, School of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa (Dean, School of Sciences), and respective heads of the departments

 

FNCCI Delegation at KU

Five member delegation led by Mr. Suraj Baidya, the Chairman of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) paid a courtesy visit at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel premises on 21 May, 2013.The team also included the members from International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group ) Mr. Fred Zake, Head Advisory service in South Asia and  Ms. Laura Anne Watson, Senior Private Sector Development Specialist.

Along with KU authorities, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha welcomed the guests and interacted with the possible areas of mutual collaboration between KU and FNCCI.

Both institutions agreed to form a task force for perusing areas of interest and its effective implementation in the areas of research activities, scholarship, internship, job placement, and establishing long term projects and programs at Kathmandu University. The next meeting of the task force will be held at FNCCI office on June 3rd 2013 to make the strategic planning for the implementation of agreed agenda.
