Video-Conferencing System Started at KU

School of Engineering, Kathmandu University has established and started the operation of Video-Conferencing System from August 2010. The conference room is located in the first floor of Library Block (Block 03). The system currently features Video-Conferencing, Content Sharing which facilitates conduction of lectures and presentations from geographically separated places. The system is associated with NREN (Nepal Research and Education Network - http://www.nren.net.np/) due to which large volume of data can now be downloaded at a higher speed. This system can be very helpful to the students, researchers, faculty members and others for conducting online meetings or attending online lectures of professors or instructors from universities or institutions from around the world. The specification of the system is:

- Polycom System (VSX7000) which includesPolycom Camera (180 Degree Head Rotation), Polycom Sound System, Polycom Microphone

- Polycom Content Sharing

- Sony Bravia 52” LCD TV (EX700)

The conference room has a total seating capacity for 24 persons which can be expanded to 35 on need. For details and reservation, please contact
