Notice for Fellowship Applicants: KU - World Bank Nepalese Students Fellowship to Wuhan University, China

 

To all the KU-World Bank fellowship applicants: 

 

The overwhelming responses to the Fellowship call on “Cooperation for Capacity Building Program on Education of Future Generation of Water Resources Development Professionals”. We received altogether 140 applications (86 males and 54 female) from different Universities across Nepal is highly appreciated.

 

The official short-listed notice for interview could not be published today due to unusual circumstances. The interview list will be published soon.

Presentation on the Importance of Technical Education

Dr. Reshma Shrestha and Dr. Krishna Prasad Shrestha (Assistant Professors from Department of Geomatics Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering), jointly presented the concept paper on “The Importance of Technical Education and Vocational Training Institute in Nepal: A Case on Kavre District”.

The paper was presented in the one-day workshop titled “Importance, Challenges and Solution of Technical and Vocational Training Institute at Kavre”, organized by, Kavre Sewa Samaj on 15 June 2019 in the Senate hall of KU.

In the workshop, along with Prof. Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, Founder Vice Chancellor, other distinguished officials from Kathmandu University, government and non-government offices were present.

The 577th meeting of Executive Council of Kathmandu University held on 18th June 2019, based on recommendation received from Selection Committee and other relevant documents, appointed Mr. Ravi Gautam, who is presently working as Project Manager at the Butwal Power company Ltd., in the position of Programme Manager on Full Time Contract basis for a period of one year and to be effective from the date signed by the selected applicant, initially for a period of one year (with possibility of extension for additional years). 
 
Kathmandu University family wishes Mr. Ravi Gautam a successful tenure and thanks the Selection Committee for timely accomplishment of the task assigned.

A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Kathmandu University, Yeungjin University in Daegu City, South Korea, and Fourth Valley Concierge Corporation in Tokyo, Japan

A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Acting Dean in the School of Engineering at Kathmandu University Prof. Dr. Hari Prasad Neopane, Professor in the School of Computer Information and Director of Office of International Cooperation/International Affairs at Yeungjin University in Daegu City, South Korea Prof. Dr. Youngchul Jung, and Founder and CEO of Fourth Valley Concierge Corporation in Tokyo, Japan Mr. Yohei Shibasaki, on behalf of their respective institutions, on June 19, 2019 at KU premises in Dhulikhel, Kavre.

 

The MOU deals with offering a customized training course developed at Yeungjin University to selected KU Computer Science and Computer Engineering students, offering them scholarships, and making an effort to place them at IT companies in Japanupon completion of the course.

Dr. Gajendra Sharma, Department of Computer Science and Engineering participated in Eighth Global Crisisonomy Symposium and Twelfth Sino-Korea Symposium from June 13-14, 2019 at Jeju Research Centre, Jeju University, Jeju Islanad, Korea. He delivered keynote speech on ‘Role of Information Technology in Crisis and Emergency Management’. The symposium was jointly organized by Global Crisisonomy Institute, Korean Association of Crisis and Emergency Management and Chinese Academy of Sciences.
