Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES)

Established in 2002 A.D., AMES is a student wing of Mechanical Engineering students that provides platform to delve into the practical side of the contextual matters and involves the students in various co- curricular and extra curricular activities through various programs. The club is moderated by the department and conducts different programs as per the academic calendar in response to the department.


AMES conducts various activities collaboration with other clubs within the university and engineering associations outside the university like Nepal Society of Mechanical Engineering Students (SOMES). AMES also collaborates with different governmental and non- governmental agencies to organize awareness and advocacy programs.


AMES occasionally organizes software training, welcome-farewell, mechanical football cup, indoor games.


The faculty  coordinator of AMES is Mr. Malesh Shah (Lecturer).

Aviyantaa

Aviyantaa is the department’s new initiation in organizing annual project exhibition and publishing department’s Yearbook with the same name. Started in 2015, Aviyantaa comprises of two events- release of the Yearbook of the department and the exhibition of projects carried out by undergraduate students. The Yearbook incorporates news articles and stories regarding various aspects and activities occurring in the department and compilation of abstracts of project works from 1st year to 4th year undergraduate students.


The event provides the students an opportunity and platform to showcase their project works. During the event, students demonstrate project works in the form of products or results through poster presentation and slideshows. The event has been marked as one of the most happening programs at the School which is witnessed by the faculty members, admin staffs and students from different departments.

AMES eMagazine

AMES Bulletin Board is an editorial and publishing committee founded by Mechanical Engineering students in co-ordination with AMES in 2016 AD. The goal of committee is to publish any articles written by students and faculties from different Schools and affiliated institutions of Kathmandu University.



AMES eMaganize team highly encourage to submit inter-disciplinary original research and project articles.
