Developing the Suitable Model to Segregate Various Loads from the Consumers Demand andtheir Consumption Pattern

Load research is systematic gathering, recording and analyzing data of utility customers. Load segregation is the most important part of load research. It basically deals with consumption pattern of consumer and its effect on distribution system performance especially loss, voltage regulation, and peak demand. Segregating the load and understanding the consumption has long term implication in any power utility since DSM initiatives eventually evolve from LR.

The main objective of this project is to segregate load among different consumer lab and find out contribution of each consumer lab on the system performance i.e. it gives the entire scenario of contribution of each consumer category, and the type of load they corresponds (lighting, irrigation, industrial, pumping etc), to the system peak.

Load segregation requires gathering, recording and analyzing data of utility customers. Load profile is then analyzed in different perspective along with its effect on the system. The different perspective may involve the segmentation of consumer in different ways like geographically, physco-graphically, behaviorally etc. In this project we took feeders originating from Burdhghat SS on Nawalparasi district for the analysis.

The outcome of this project is to figure out different factors responsible for the peak, losses and poor voltage regulation and bring out possibilities and suggestions for the peak minimization. It will not only be subjected to the load segregation but will also be dealing with various strategies for DSM initiatives that will enhance the performance of the system
