Program Description:

Master of Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering (MEEPE) is an international graduate degree program offered by Kathmandu University designed to educate Engineers working in electrical power sectors or educational institutions in Nepal (and other foreign countries) to improve their professional competence in doing their engineering practice and research.

MEEPE program was started at Kathmandu University (KU) in the year 2004 in cooperation with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) under Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) fellowship program, administered by Center for International University Cooperation (SIU), Norway.

The MEEPE program and coursework designed lays foundation to graduates for understanding operation, challenges and problems associated with traditional electrical power system and their associated components in the light of a transition to more sustainable power generation from renewable sources.

Program Structure:

The program is delivered over four semesters, with three semesters of taught courses including lectures, exercises, practical courses, excursions, assessment and followed by a research project on leading to the submission of a Master’s Thesis on final semester.
