Dr. K. Jha obtained M.Sc. degree in mathematics from Central Department of Mathematics (CDM), Tribhuvan University and M.Phil. degree from Kathmandu University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Analysis viz “Some results on fixed point theory and its applications to approximation theory” from D.S.B. Campus, Kumaon University, India under University Grants Commission (UGC) fellowship.     Dr. Jha has been a receipt of Post Doctoral Fellowship at Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences (ASSMS), GC University, Lahore, Pakistan. He joined the Department of Mathematical Science in KU as lecturer in September 1994. Prior to his appointment in KU, he was the assistant lecturer in Balmikee Campus of Nepal Sanskrit University.

Dr. Jha is one of the senior faculties in the School of Science. He has received “Education Award” from the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal in 2008 and Third World Academy of Science (TWAS) Award by Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (RONAST) in 2005 for his contributions in the developments of mathematics education and research activities in Nepal. Moreover, he was the coordinator of M. Phil. Programs in School of Science from August 2006 – January 2011. Dr. Jha was also the associate director of KU Student Affairs’ Directorate from August 2007 – June 2009.


Dr. Jha teaches various mathematics courses at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate (M. Phil./Ph.D.) levels. Also, he is involved in supervision of M. Phil./Ph.D. students of Kathmandu University and M.Sc. students of Tribhuvan University for their theses.
